Welcome back Arlen Hlusko for her virtual presentation of Julie-O by Mark Summer! We hope you had a great week and enjoy this amazing performance by Arlen. While the 2020 season had to be cancelled in-person, we are excited to present virtual mini-concerts from Pikes Falls' musicians! Mini concerts will be released on Fridays at 6pm Eastern. Our first mini concert is from Pikes Falls' pianist, Tim McReynolds. Dear Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival Friends and Family --
While I’m sure this news is not unexpected, it is with extreme regret that we have to officially cancel the 2020 concert season because of COVID-19. In the midst of this pandemic, we want to keep safety in mind. We can't responsibly ask anyone to travel on behalf of PFCM, and the safety of audience members and the Vermont community is of paramount importance. Even with a socially distanced or Vermont-based virtual version of the concerts, we would be putting people at unnecessary risk, not to mention acting against the Governor’s request that all festivals be canceled for the year. However, we do plan to offer some virtual performances from our homes later this summer, so please stay tuned for information about those. It has been a difficult spring and summer for most people, I imagine. I find solace in knowing that we will come out on the other end, fully understanding the importance of art, music, and human contact. The summer of 2021 will still mark 10 years since the beginning of The Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival; we have every expectation that we will see you all then in and around Jamaica, VT. Sending the most healthy and safe wishes from Philadelphia, Susanna Loewy, Artistic Director Andy Sabol, Managing Director It's officially 2020!
Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival's 9th Season will hold concerts from July 29-August 8. Stay tuned: program repertoire and concerts will be announced soon... |
