Good afternoon, PFCM Community -
We're thrilled to announce that we'll be back in Vermont this summer! The festival will be held from August 9-12, with concerts in Grafton, Manchester, Townshend, and (of course) Jamaica. We'll have a complete update with repertoire, concert dates, and more by the end of the week, but for now I just wanted to say... WE'RE BACK! I've had a huge smile on my face (and in my heart) since this decision a couple of weeks ago. Thank you to everyone who encouraged this return, and we can't wait to be up in Vermont again! Susanna PS: Of course, fundraising and development is always a large part of PFCM's planning process, and this year we're starting from scratch. We'll send direct pleas very soon, but in the meantime, if you want to help out, we'd love your support. Good afternoon, PFCM Friends and Family -
It has certainly been way too long since I've sent an update. I've been thinking for months now about how to word this message, and have realized there are no perfect words. As we all know, the world has turned upside down over the past couple of years. Life has marched on, but certainly not without significant change. Within the context of this ongoing pandemic, my family welcomed Asher Sphere in April of 2020 (now almost 2!), moved to West Philadelphia in October of 2020, and now we're thrilled to be expecting second baby boy this coming July. This is to say, I'll have a newborn when the festival was supposed to be taking place, so I regret that we're going to have to hold off one more year until we bring PFCM back to its full glory in Jamaica, Grafton, Manchester, Townshend, and Brattleboro. We all miss Southern Vermont (and making music and art there!) so much, and I regret that the timing worked out as it did... but I look forward to the summer of 2023, when the festival can return for an official 10th season, and I'll have both little boys in tow. I thank you all for your support since the inception of the festival in 2022, and I promise -- we're not done yet! Sending peace and tranquility whenever possible, Susanna Dear Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival Friends and Family,
I hope you've all had a safe and healthy year. On my end, the quarantine provided peace I didn't know I needed, and I'm coming through the pandemic feeling clearheaded and ready to move forward; I'm looking forward these next chapters... While we aren't going to be able to hold a full-blown music festival this year, we're thrilled to be able to present two in-person concerts this summer in Vermont! We'll be at the Grafton Church on July 29 and August 5 at 7pm.
Both concerts promise to be fantastic evenings of live music... something I know we've all missed. I know Grafton might be a bit further a drive than you're used to, but please mark your calendars and attend! It would be so wonderful to see you all there this summer. Concerts will be held safely according to the Governor's Health Regulations. And not to worry -- we'll be back in Jamaica soon. We just need the year to regroup and reimagine PFCM's mission and vision. (I'm sure it goes without saying, but we also need the time to revamp our post-pandemic budget and fundraising.) We expect to be back in 2022! Susanna Loewy, Artistic Director Andy Sabol, Managing Director PS: If you would like to donate this year, the funds will certainly go to good use! Our website continues to accept safe and tax-deductible donations. As always, thank you for your support! |
