It's just about 6 weeks until the start of the 2023 Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival!
We're not quite sure if we're in Year 9 or Year 11... or perhaps we're finally at Year 10. (The pandemic has our seasons muddled a bit.) But, as I reminisce about all that has happened since the start of the festival in 2012, I end up thinking about the inevitability of time -- how time ticks by when you want it to, and when you don't... a concept that in turn reminds me of the incredible program that the Naked Eye Ensemble performed at the Town Hall as Guest Artists in 2019. This year, we're happy to welcome the Ensemble Amphion Baroque back to perform on Tuesday night during festival week. Perhaps Naked Eye will return in future seasons! Meanwhile, our full season of concert events is now on the website. Each performance features different repertoire, so mark your calendars -- you won't want to miss any of this exciting programming. Check out the Dates and Events page for full details. (We're also performing at area assisted living facilities, so we'll have performances of some sort almost every day during the week we're there!) Of special note is the Garden Party on Wednesday evening. Pikes Falls musicians will play solos and duets in a gorgeous setting; a flute solo by Heidi Jacob will be featured, and there's a large possibility the composer will be in attendance! Now, time for the fundraising update. The total on the online fundraising page doesn't reflect some offline donations, so don't panic when you check in on how we're doing... but we still need to raise about $5000 before the festival starts. PFCM has always been made possible by crowdfunding -- we all come together to make it work. So, thank you to all the donors -- past, present, and future. You can donate online, or by mailing a check made out to Inscape Chamber Orchestra: Susanna Loewy 4637 Spruce St Philadelphia, PA 19139 As always, thank you for your support. 6 weeks and counting...
