Good morning! As you know, the 5th Season of the Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival ended about a week and a half ago. I'm now settled back at home and have had a chance to reflect. First and foremost, thank you all for your support (both monetary and otherwise), unending encouragement, and concert attendance. The two Town Hall concerts in Jamaica were completely full; people were even standing in the back! This was unquestionably the most successful year yet. The Rocking and Recycling Instrument Creation was a lot of fun; the hall was filled with kids (and adults!) experimenting with creating different types of sound out of recycled materials. We made pipe organs, harmonicas, drums, rain sticks, and many other imaginary instruments. We also enjoyed our concerts at the Jamaica State Park, the Latchis Theater, and Valley Cares. These partnerships will continue to grow with the festival. The visual art component was fantastic this year. Natasha brought both sculpture (sold!) and collage (sold!). Andy and Jen brought amazing sound-influenced video. The video was shown on the big screen in the Latchis, and in the Town Hall, concert-goers were encouraged to see the video through the ticket window, as though the window were a shadow box. We have ideas about how to make this even better next year. To that end, I've been asked about what I'm planning for next year. For now, I'm happy to say that I am refusing to think about it. I have some ideas, but I need a bit of time without PFCM items on my to-do list. However, don't let that stop you from emailing me your thoughts, if anything is on your mind. And don't worry... you'll definitely hear from me again before too long. For now, I leave you with some pictures of our 'Fabulous 5th Season.' Once again, thank you so much. PFCM wouldn't happen without you. Interested in PFCM gear? We can send you our new shirts and bags, limited edition signed waterfall prints, CDs of our Town Hall concerts, and a lot more...
