We did it! (and, new events announced...!)

7/21/2018

Good morning, everyone.

A week early, and we conquered the $5000 goal! Thank you all so incredibly much.

Just one more thing about the budget, and then I'll move on to much more interesting topics. We've still raised $3000 under what the festival will cost this summer. We generally raise around $2000 at the concerts, and then the musicians' fund of $1000 will fill in the rest.

However, I'd love to not have to accept the pledges from the musicians. The ideals behind PFCM are to provide music, art, and commerce for the Jamaica, VT area, to create a community of artists and musicians working alongside each other, and to provide some summertime employment for those artists and musicians. If we raise enough money, I'd rather not accept the $1000 pool from the musicians (and I'll reimburse any who already gave).

In short, if you haven't donated to the festival yet, but still want to support this lovely little grass-roots venture, the donation will certainly be put to good use! Donation links are as follows:
  • DonorBox (can be anonymous if you wish)
  • Facebook Fundraiser (through July 27)
  • Check made out to Inscape Chamber Orchestra and sent to:
    • Susanna Loewy, 912 S. Bodine St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
So, on to the music and art!! Concerts and events start on August 1 and continue every day through August 11. PFCM musicians, artists, and guest artist musicians will be playing and presenting in and around Jamaica -- at the Jamaica Town Hall, Jamaica State Park, Latchis Theater, Brattleboro Music Center, Valley Cares Assisted Living, and the North Country General Store. Check it all out on our Dates and Events page. Make sure to reserve a seat for the Jamaica Town Hall concerts; they tend to fill up!

Yesterday, I mentioned that we have some surprises to announce... here's the first:

The Jamaica Historical Foundation has recently created a film of families of the Nearings and Pikes Falls communities. They are going to be showing that film and exhibiting materials about those communities in the Jamaica Historical Museum (in the Bank building across the street from the Town Hall) at 6PM on Saturdays, August 4 and August 11.

We'd love you to plan to arrive for the PFCM concerts an hour early to see the film, look through the museum, and then head across the street for the pre-concert talks and concerts.

Stay tuned... I'll send updates with more new dates and events over the next few days.

Thank you all again for all of your support and encouragement.
Only 6 days til Vermont!
Susanna
