The fabulous NakedEye Ensemble will be at the Jamaica Town Hall tonight at 7PM. This is a show you don't want to miss. Reserve your tickets! "An eclectic eight-member electro-acoustic ensemble with classical, rock, and jazz DNA, award-winning NakedEye Ensemble commissions and performs seminal works by cross-over and cutting-edge composers. Presenting music of the imagination utilizing acoustic, electric, toy, kitchen, and noise-making instruments, NakedEye’s body of repertoire reflects the group’s mission to innovate and explore musical expression outside of convention. From notated works to guided improvisations for flexible instrumentation, the group has established a new music presence in its home city from which it collaborates with composers and performers to import and export musical works in a rich, ongoing artistic exchange. NakedEye believes in the power of new music to surprise, uplift, and change." ABOUT THE PROJECT Time’s Illusion is a collaborative commissioning project between NakedEye Ensemble and The National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia, PA (the largest specialized museum of horology in the U.S.). The museum contains not only a plethora of physical time pieces, but an incredible richness in the variety of sounds used to keep time over the centuries. It is also a place to reflect on Time as a magic act, an illusion (Einstein) of constant forward motion when perception tells a different story. To tell that story, the six composers commissioned for the project used recorded clock sounds from the museum’s collection as triggers for creative exploration in their work. This concert promises to open your ears (and fill the Town Hall stage!) in ways you never imagined! Reserve your tickets now. COMING UP:
