Last night's Jamaica State Park concert was lovely. Some people sat at the Pavilion picnic tables, others brought camping chairs, and still more stumbled across the music as they finished their hikes. Tonight, we have our first Jamaica Town Hall Concert at 7PM! About our guests: An eclectic eight-member electro-acoustic ensemble with classical, rock, and jazz DNA, NakedEye commissions and performs seminal works by cross-over and cutting-edge composers. Presenting music of the imagination utilizing acoustic, electric, toy, kitchen, and noise-making instruments, NakedEye’s body of repertoire reflects the group’s mission to innovate and explore musical expression outside of convention. From notated works to guided improvisations for flexible instrumentation, the group has established a new music presence in its home city from which it collaborates with composers and performers to import and export musical works in a rich, ongoing artistic exchange. NakedEye believes in the power of new music to surprise, uplift, and change. Come at 6:30 for the Pre-Concert talk with NakedEye founder Ju-Ping Song. Then, stay after the concert for the reception at North Country General, across the street from the Town Hall. Check out all of the festival events! Tomorrow at 5PM, we're performing a joint concert of Pikes Falls musicians and the NakedEye Ensemble at the Latchis Theater in Brattleboro. We already have a lot of orders for reserved Town Hall seats over the next couple of weeks. Make sure you get your seat! As always, thank you. Season 6 is underway! Comments are closed.
