As I'm getting ready to head down to South Carolina for a course in music entrepreneurship, I first wanted to send an update about where PFCM is after our fundraising recital. First of all, a HUGE thank you to everyone who came on Sunday. Of course, thank you also to all the people who couldn't attend, but donated anyhow. (Your names are gratefully listed underneath our thermometer to the right.) The recital was a success. The music and film were inspiring, and I believe everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. The garden reception afterward is the talk of the town... (Thank you, Bev and Lins!) But... we still have about $3,500 left to raise, as an absolute bottom line. I believe there are some donations still coming in the mail, and there are a number of submitted grant applications from which I'm waiting to hear results, but... the simple truth is that we need help. So, if you've been meaning to donate, but just haven't had a chance yet, now's the time. Donate easily online (select 'Pikes Falls Chamber Music' from the Program list), or send a snail-mail check. As a small thank you, anyone who contributes before June 10 (deadline extended!) will receive a digital release of Sunday's performance.
Lastly, I just want to say... working with the PFCM and Inscape musicians again over the weekend reaffirmed how much I believe in this festival. It's already something very special, but I really think it has the potential to become a lasting addition to the summer life of Southern Vermont. Thank you for your consideration and generosity!
