Good morning, Pikes Falls Chamber Music Fesitval -
First, to everyone who has donated this year, monetarily, in-kind, or otherwise: a HUGE thank you! We've raised over $24,000 of our $32,000 budget. If someone had told me eight years ago that I'd be raising this much money on an annual basis, I would have choked on the impossibility of the thought. The festival exists because of your help; thank you, and thank you again. I'm writing today because the Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival is in trouble. This season, a couple of larger donors were not able to contribute for various familial reasons. Because of that, and because we are investing more resources in Guest Artist fees, World Premiere commissions, and managerial costs, we still have quite a large deficit to conquer before the start of the festival. To be completely transparent, as I inferred above, we are currently $8,000 away from meeting the budgetary needs; however, in past experience we raise about $2,000 at the performances in Vermont. So, I need to raise $6,000 before the musicians and artists start arriving in Vermont next Friday. Here's the Matching Opportunity: At my humble request, the musicians and artists have pooled together to create a matching fund of $1000. I will not accept their donations if I don't raise the remaining $5000 before Friday, July 27. I'm asking for your help to raise $5000 in the next week and a half. Anything at all that you can donate to help us bridge this gap is truly appreciated. The festival is a grass-roots, crowd-funded venture; without the crowd, PFCM doesn't exist. There are 3 ways you can donate. I will keep them all synced so you can see the progress of the campaign.
I realize that my circles are becoming somewhat tapped out, so your help with spreading the campaign would be wonderful. To that end, please forward information about the festival and its funding emergency to anyone you think might be able to contribute. In addition, please let me know if you have any ideas of people who might be interested in discussing the festival and perhaps helping further. This is PFCM's 7th season. Over the past 6 summers, PFCM has performed 39 concerts in Southern Vermont, commissioned 10 World Premieres, and showcased 10 works of Visual Art. This season will add an additional 10 concerts/events, 2 new World Premieres, and The Pikes Falls Visual Art Residency! I'm so thrilled with all we have accomplished over the past six seasons, and I truly look forward to reaching Year 10 in 2021. We're creating art in an economy that is struggling, and in a society that doesn't always understand the importance of creativity. Thank you for understanding, and thank you for helping. Susanna Loewy PS: Here are the donation links again, just in case: Comments are closed.
