Good morning,
As the year draws to a close, I'm starting to work on next summer's Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival; 2019 will be our 8th season! The details are coming together, and I'll continue to have updates for you over the next month. For now, mark your calendars! The dates for the festival are July 31-August 10. We'll of course be performing at the Jamaica Town Hall, the Jamaica State Park, and Valley Cares Assisted Living. I'm also very excited to announce a new partnership with the Grafton Community Church; we'll be playing there the 2nd week of the festival! There are other venues and partnerships in the works, so stay tuned... The second week of the festival will feature a Pierrot Ensemble instrumentation; that means we'll be playing pieces for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. This unique combination of instruments allows for a hugely broad range of timbres within the small chamber ensemble; it'll be a stirring concert. Nathan Lincoln-Decusatis will be our composer-in-residence, and the World Premiere will again include photographs by Rebecca Lepkoff, this summer concentrating on her New York City pictures. Our guest ensembles are still being finalized, but here's a hint: you'll be welcoming back musicians from previously standing-room-only Town Hall concerts, and of course you'll see some new faces and hear a broad range of musical styles. PFCM's website has been updated with the new season information, so definitely check it out when you have a chance. I want to say a special thank you to everyone here. Thank you for supporting the Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival for the past 7 seasons; thank you for attending the concerts and making the festival possible. Most of all, thank you for believing in the arts, and for keeping music (old and new) alive. Lastly, if you're considering end of year tax-deductible donations, please keep PFCM in your thoughts. Our budget is currently around $25,000, and our fundraising is starting from scratch this year. (It's always a bit overwhelming in the beginning, so thank you in advance for helping to ease my fears each year.) You can donate and track our progress on our website’s Donation page. You can also help by spreading the word about the Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival. Please pass along this information to your family and friends, and let us know if there are any questions we can answer. Thank you again for all of your help and support over the past 7+ years. The Pikes Falls Chamber Music Festival wouldn't exist without you. With much love and appreciation in 2018, 2019, and beyond, Susanna Loewy Comments are closed.
